SEPTEMBER

Monday 1st: The Big Idea creative education programme starts. It will involve interactive workshops led by experts hosted by partner schools, which are fun and engaging. Students will use creative thinking to solve problems in a collaborative format.

TY Ash will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

Tuesday 2nd: TY Elm will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

Wednesday 3rd: TY Oak will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

GAA Foundation course starts. Carlow GAA run this optional course, (20 places are available). It will run every Wednesday (9:00 - 10:56) to midterm. (Mr Smithers)

Thursday 3rd: TY Pine will go on walk to Clashganny (9:00 – 1:07).

Wednesday 10th: Presentation by The Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting the protection of street and slum children in Kolkata, some of the most underprivileged in India, as well as their families and communities. TY Oak 9:00 – 9:56 TY Pine 9:58 – 10:56; (break 10:56 - 11:11); TY Ash 11:11 – 12:09; TY Elm 12:09 – 13:07 (Room 6).

Alltech Keenan’s will visit TY Ash (9:58 – 10:56) and TY Oak (12:09 – 13:07) during their Sustainability class.

Thursday 11th: Alltech Keenan’s will visit TY Pine during their Sustainability class.

First work placement: Friday September 12th to Friday 19th December 2025.

Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd: Rubbish Film Festival focusses on students making one-minute films on issues surrounding Sustainable Development Goals. This will be a two-day workshop facilitated by Createschool for a selection of 12 interested students. Students will learn a range of skills related to writing, filming, producing, will then be entered into the regional awards, and the winners of these will then be entered into the National Awards next May.
